ATM this just a concept in Fusion 360.
Its made from all 500mm rails, a few 20x20's, and a few 20,40's to build the frame.
Its got a lead screw bundle kit (nema 17) x 500mm length for the Z-axis.
The table, motors, electronics, and wires will be taken from a budget printer I got started on, purchased off amazon a while back.
I will be using a Bondtech all metal Hotend.
I am not sure if I will be going a direct drive, or bowden. My current printer is direct drive and I love it a lot, but I wish I could rapid faster to points, but the added weight wont allow it. This is the reason for the core XY Build.
I am currently working on a configuraiton that will allow a good low profile XY axis at the top using all Open Build components. I really want to just buy the stuff and put it together and not deal with printing custom parts.
So far it looks like I may not be able to get away from printing custom parts, which is fine, I just wanted the nice added rigidity of all aluminum build.
Also, I have never made an XY machine, so I am trying to figure out how I need to mount the motors and how and where to place the idler bearings for the belt config.
If anyone wants to give feed back, that would be great.
